A prominent payment gateway provider handling over €12B in annual transactions served e-commerce platforms and SaaS companies across Europe. Renowned for its reliability and speed, the gateway was integral to businesses requiring seamless payment processing solutions at scale. However, outdated infrastructure within its Security Operations Centre left it vulnerable to cyberattacks, resulting in 14 critical breaches over 12 months that compromised client trust and delayed ISO 27001 certification efforts.
Following these breaches, which exposed sensitive data and disrupted transaction flows, the client faced mounting pressure from enterprise clients demanding enhanced security measures. Without immediate modernisation of their cybersecurity protocols, they risked losing key accounts while falling behind competitors who had already adopted advanced threat detection systems that were compliant with industry standards.
We helped by overhauling SOC infrastructure through AI-driven threat detection systems capable of reducing false positives by 93.5%. Rotating encryption protocols were implemented for API transaction security alongside war-gaming simulations designed to test defences against 22 attack scenarios. These measures restored client trust, achieved ISO certification within five months and reduced breach resolution times by roughly 89%.
